The tour begins in Panajachel at 9:00 a.m., with an expected finish around 4:00 p.m. The route follows our Atitlán Oeste circuit, one of the most scenic cross-country rides around Lake Atitlán. The day starts with a shuttle high into the cloud forest above Panajachel, where sweeping views open toward the lake and its iconic volcanoes. From the ridge, the ride follows ancient Mayan footpaths, flowing agricultural singletrack, and winding descents that pass through remote Kaqchikel communities on the western side of the lake.

The terrain is constantly changing — forested trails, panoramic ridgelines, traditional terraced fields, and a final descent dropping nearly 1,000 meters toward the lakeshore. This point-to-point journey blends landscape, culture, and adventurous riding in equal measure. The ride finishes in San Marcos La Laguna, where the support vehicle will have your belongings ready for you. Travelers wishing to continue by boat to another lakeside town can easily arrange a transfer at the end of the tour.
